As we enter 2026, Venture North Law is pleased to reflect on another year of strong performance and continued recognition in the Vietnamese legal market. The year 2025 marked significant milestones for our firm, both in terms of industry rankings and our involvement in notable cross-border and domestic transactions.

Industry Recognition

Our commitment to delivering high-quality legal services continues to be recognized by leading international legal directories. In the 2026 edition rankings (published in late 2025 and early 2026), Venture North Law received the following acknowledgments:

Chambers Asia-Pacific 2026 ranked the firm at Band 3 for Corporate/M&A in Vietnam, noting that the firm "has an active team of lawyers based in Hanoi, advising local and regional clients on cross-border acquisitions, sales and joint ventures" with "expertise in diverse sectors ranging from energy and real estate to technology." Managing Partner Nguyen Quang Vu was also individually ranked at Band 3 and recognized for "the high quality of his advice" in handling corporate transactions.

AsiaLaw Profiles 2026 recognized the firm as Notable in Capital Markets and Recognised in Corporate and M&A, placing us among the leading law firms in these practice areas in Vietnam.

IFLR1000 2026 ranked Venture North Law as Notable in Banking and Finance and placed the firm in Tier 4 for M&A, with the review highlighting that "M&A and investment is the core practice of the firm" with experience "in assisting clients on greenfield investment, joint ventures and acquisitions."

The Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2026 ranked the firm in Tier 5 for Corporate and M&A, noting that the firm "advises clients ranging from international corporations to startups on M&A and corporate matters, including entity formation, governance, and compliance, with particular expertise in the real estate sector."

Representative Transactions in 2025

Our firm had the privilege of advising clients on several significant transactions throughout 2025, spanning sectors including technology infrastructure, manufacturing, retail, real estate, and transportation.

Technology and Data Infrastructure

In December 2025, we acted as legal adviser to HITC (HTC International Telecommunication JSC) in its landmark strategic joint venture with Evolution Data Centres, a Southeast Asia-focused data centre platform backed by Warburg Pincus and Zero Two. This partnership will develop large-scale, AI-ready and hyperscale data centres in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The joint venture positions HITC as one of the first telecom infrastructure companies in Vietnam to welcome an international strategic investor in the data centre sector, and Evolution as one of the first international data centre operators with presence in both of Vietnam's major economic hubs. The collaboration will leverage Vietnam's renewable energy resources to create environmentally responsible facilities, supporting the country's rapid digital transformation and growing demand for cloud and AI services.

Manufacturing and Industrial

We advised on Viglacera Corporation's (VGC) acquisition of the remaining 64.7% stake in Vietnam Float Glass Company (VFG) from Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd. (NSG) of Japan, bringing Viglacera's ownership to 100%. This significant transaction, completed in June 2025, consolidated Viglacera's position in the building materials sector and represented a notable exit by a major Japanese manufacturer from its Vietnamese joint venture.

Retail Sector M&A

Our team advised on the divestment by Central Retail Corporation of Thailand of its entire stake in Nguyen Kim Trading Joint Stock Company to Pico Holdings, a Vietnamese retailer. The transaction, valued at approximately US$36 million, marked Central Retail's exit from Vietnam's consumer electronics market after a decade of investment. This deal reflects broader market trends in Vietnam's competitive retail landscape and the strategic repositioning of major regional players.

Real Estate and Property Development

We provided legal support on the strategic partnership between CapitaLand Development and Vinhomes for the development of The Fullton, a luxury low-rise residential project in Hung Yen province. With an estimated development value of US$800 million, The Fullton represents the first low-rise project by CapitaLand Development in the northern region and underscores continued confidence in Vietnam's property market from major Singaporean investors.

Infrastructure Finance

Our firm advised in connection with the International Finance Corporation's (IFC) investment of VND 500 billion (approximately US$19.2 million) in VETC, Vietnam's leading electronic toll collection operator. The investment, structured as five-year convertible bonds, will support VETC's expansion of non-stop toll collection systems nationwide and development of related digital payment services. This transaction highlights the growing interest of international development finance institutions in Vietnam's smart transportation infrastructure.
